Lose Weight by Running… But Run Safely!

Running is one of the best ways to lose weight, it’s fun and it’s easy. Not to mention it can be very inexpensive. Some shorts, a shirt and some running shoes. (The shirt is optional.. depending on who you are)

The most expensive part of running is the shoes. However, the shoes may be one of the most important parts of running. You don’t want to get a pair of shoes where after running your toes look like they have been hit by a hammer. If you put in an extra few bucks when buying your jogging shoes, not only will you feel better after the run, your toes and feet will love you for it.

The biggest reason why you want good running shoes is that properly and well made running shoes have the needed foot and body support. The type of support that will not give you back pain during or after running. You want to make sure you stay away from needing shin splints. This can be avoided by using good running shoes.

Next you want to pick a place where you can have enough freedom to run. Also this place needs to be a place where you can be safe along with those around you. Stay away from secluded or high crime areas that can be dangerous. And above all, always be alert and aware of your environment. Have a running partner too if you can. There’s safety in numbers. ;)

You need to have a system put in place of how you are going to run.  Create a plan where you know you are going to run and how long you are going to run it. Make sure you start at a pace that is good for you, also remember to do a good  stretch beforehand. Stretch for at least 20 minutes before you start you jog. Warm up those muscles so as to avoid injury. Now if you are just starting out, then you may want to take it easy when taking your first few jogs. You don’t want to get burnt out on it after just getting started. Don’t just  go out there and start flinging your arms and legs and run like a crazed chicken! Prepare and do it right.

Along with running to lose weight, you will need to have the right kind of diet too. Eating right is a big part of losing weight, and b combining the two, the pounds will come off in no time. Plus you’ll feel better and be healthier too!
