The problem is that while they’re partially true, they’re also misused and misunderstood. The end result is a constant struggle to lose weight even when you think you’re doing all the right things. Let’s take a look at where most people go wrong and what you can do today to stop sabotaging your weight loss.</p>
<p><strong>&#8220;A High Protein Diet is Good for Weight Loss&#8221;</strong></p>
<p>A high protein diet means you’re eating lots of meat and dairy foods.  However, there is also a ton of fat in most meats and dairy products. We’re talking about saturated fat here which isn’t good for your heart.</p>
<p>Some fat is necessary and good for you, however chances are you don’t need to go looking for it. You’re probably getting plenty in the foods you already eat. If you overload on protein you can cause several health damaging effects. The first and perhaps most serious is that too much protein can put a terrible strain on your liver. It can cause liver failure. <p>It all begins with how many meals we eat a day. Your body should never feel really hungry or starved.  That is when fat storage begins to occur and the metabolism begins to slow down for &#8220;self-preservation.&#8221;  To avoid this it is recommended that you get around 5-6 appropriately proportioned meals and <a href="http://redirectingat.com?id=1221X512157&xs=1&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.pntrs.com%2Ft%2F2-3890-12756-4089&sref=rss" target='_blank'>snacks</a> every day.</p>
<p>The first thing to consider is how much protein you are consuming everyday on average. It is recommended that you consume about one gram of protein per pound of body weight if you are participating in high intensity strength and cardio exercise on a weekly basis. If you weigh 150 pounds you should be getting about 150 grams of protein a day spread out over 5-6 meals. So knowing this, you can conclude that each meal should have at least 25 grams of protein in it to ensure full recovery and weight loss.</p>
<p>Low carbohydrate diets seem to be very popular these days, but are they effective? You should be consuming 1.5 times as many carbs as you are grams of protein. But, these should be what are known as <em>low glycemic carbs</em>. These are foods that will not cause a dramatic insulin spike which can throw off your metabolism. Complex carbohydrates are an important part in the energy production process within our muscles. Basically what these nutrients are doing is allowing your muscles to work at a higher intensity to in turn boost strong positive effects on the metabolism.</p>
<p>If you are eating the recommended amount of protein and carbohydrates daily via their recommended sources then there is only one more nutritional piece you should know that will keep you full and your body burning more fat than before. Always try to include fruit and vegetables with practically every meal if you can. These low glycemic, low calorie foods are fuel for the body’s metabolism. They also contain high amounts of necessary <a href="http://redirectingat.com?id=1221X512157&xs=1&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.gopjn.com%2Ft%2F2-4121-12756-5866&sref=rss" target='_blank'>vitamins</a> and minerals our body needs daily.</p>
<p>If you are able to consistently and properly feed your body throughout the day, you will not only feel better but see a dramatic increase in fat loss, especially if you include and exercise regimen.</p>

<p>Well, the answer is yes, these weight loss feats are really possible and we’re going to talk about what they are doing and you aren’t. Truth be told, they probably spend as much time as you do in the gym or maybe even less.  If you’re starting to feel bad, don’t! With a few simple tweaks you will understand and have the ability to duplicate their results starting today.</p>
<p>The first thing that you are probably doing and they are not, is spending time on the elliptical or walking on a treadmill. So let me  now introduce you to a concept called “high intensity”. High Intensity workouts are exercising at a higher rate of exertion that will burn more body fat in a shorter period of time than exercising at a lower rate of exertion for a period of time. Why is this? The fat burning process does not begin until our body’s core temperature is hot enough. Walking on a treadmill is such a low intensity exercise that our body temperature never rises enough to experience full fat burning effects.</p>
<p>Here’s how you can overcome this in your routine: start doing intervals on the treadmill to see increased results. Start by going at a jog for one minute than a walk for one, and so on for about twenty minutes. Over time as your endurance and fitness increase, you will be able to increase the speed and decrease the rest time to continue seeing results.</p>
<p>The second thing celebrities are doing that you and most others are not, is actually sticking to their <a href="http://redirectingat.com?id=1221X512157&xs=1&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.pjatr.com%2Ft%2F2-3529-12756-4491&sref=rss" target='_blank'>diet plans</a>. Your diet and how well you implement it will have a major impact on your weight loss efforts.  People consistently tend to think that since they are working out and that their metabolism is burning faster that they can still eat whatever they want. This is completely untrue, our bodies need the proper amounts of lean proteins, complex carbohydrates, and fruits for the body to regulate and maintain a healthy weight. A good example of foods to stay away from would be anything that is processed. Processed foods are not well recognized by our bodies and therefore they hold very little nutritional value and often contain high amounts of fat and sodium which are counterproductive to weight loss. In other words, you must watch and regulate what you eat!</p>
<p>Two points to remember here are, first, do not waste an hour on the treadmill when you could be spending twenty minutes on the treadmill seeing better results. Second, diet is the key and if you ignore it you will not succeed in meeting your weight loss goals.</p>

Besides all the health issues that can cut your life short, being an obese woman can also damage your lifestyle and social standing. How others perceive you can affect career and employment opportunities. Even shopping for clothes becomes more <a href="http://redirectingat.com?id=1221X512157&xs=1&url=http%3A%2F%2Fcommons.wikimedia.org%2Fwiki%2FUser%3AMatthiasKabel&sref=rss" target="_blank"><img class="alignright size-full wp-image-1426" style="margin-top: 6px; margin-bottom: 6px;" title="Venus_von_Willendorf-by-Matthias-Kabel" src="http://www.thedietsphere.com/wp-content/uploads/Venus_von_Willendorf-by-Matthias-Kabel.jpg" alt="Venus_von_Willendorf-by-Matthias-Kabel" width="174" height="313" /></a>difficult and costly.  Every facet of your life is affected by your obesity.  Is being an obese woman worth all the challenges you must face? Isn&#8217;t life hard enough already?</p>
<p>So what can you do about it?  You know you need to lose weight but you do have to be careful as to how you implement any weight loss program.  The key is to take things slowly. You didn&#8217;t become obese overnight so you are not going to shed all those pounds overnight either. In fact losing weight too fast could create a whole new set of health problems. So be smart and do it the healthy way.</p>
<p>You first need to consult your doctor.  Get a complete physical, blood work and all. Besides weighing you and taking your vital statistics, he/she can also check your body mass index (BMI).  Women with a BMI over 30 need to be properly supervised when undertaking a new healthy living regime.  You need to gradually introduce exercise and physical activity into your life.  The good news for obese women though, is that although it may be difficult to become more physically active, you will see results very quickly.  Large women tend to lose the pounds quicker at first, than skinny women.</p>
<p>You don&#8217;t need to join a gym if you don&#8217;t want to. Walking is a great form of exercise and it is free.  Take things slowly at first but build up your speed since going for a leisurely stroll is not going to burn the optimal amount of calories. With practice you will get faster and stronger, as you get used to a walking routine.</p>
<p>In the meantime,  you also need to address your diet.  This of course, doesn&#8217;t just mean what you eat, although obviously that is important, but you will also need to address how and when you eat. Your doctor or a good nutritionist can help you with this.</p>
<p>Generally speaking we all overeat. We have forgotten how to listen to our bodies and let it tell us when we are full.  We serve large portions of food on big plates and have become accustomed to clearing our plates.  So the meal is over when the plate is clean not when we are full.</p>
<p>The first recommended step in your healthy eating regime is to reduce portion sizes. It is best to also reduce the size of the plates you use as otherwise you could feel deprived if your food portion is not covering your plate.  These little visual mind games can play a big part in your road to success.</p>
<p>The next step is to start cooking or preparing your meals from scratch. Only then do you know <em>what</em> you are eating. Store bought and convenience food often contains hidden fats and sugars among other potentially harmful ingredients.  They are put in to make the food look and taste better plus last longer. By cooking your own meals, you will reduce your calorie intake without even trying. You don&#8217;t have to be a master chef.   Simple home cooking is fine.</p>
<p>By utilizing just these few tips, you will see results a lot sooner than you think, but surely, not overnight. Hopefully, the small daily successes will motivate you to continue on your quest to lose weight, slim down and tone up. Not only will you look better, but you will feel better too!</p>

<p>Decrease the amount of sugar in your diet. Stop drinking pop. Pop has no place in a diet for hypoglycemia. Cut down your use of white sugar, also. But do not just blindly start drinking diet pop, either, diet pop is poison and the chemical used in diet pop will actually trick your body into staying fat.</p>
<p>Increase your fiber intake. Fiber can help regulate the absorption of sugars that you eat. Try increasing the amounts of whole grains, fresh fruits, vegetables, nuts and legumes. All full of fiber and very good for you.</p>
<p>Now, if you have been doing some research, you have found that three meals a day is no longer the standard. What you should be doing, especially if you have diabetes or hypoglycemia, is eating several small meals a day. Small meals will help keep your blood sugar levels stabilized and under control.</p>
<p>Caffeine is another aspect of your diet that you should limit or even eliminate. Caffeine will actually help you feel full or at least less hungry and therefore you will not eat the way you should. Caffeine is never a substitute for a good meal.</p>
<p>These are the important changes that you should try to make and stick with when learning to deal with your diagnosis of hypoglycemia or even diabetes. Stay positive and don&#8217;t think of this as things you can no longer have. Think of this as an adventure in finding out all the new things you can have. When your blood sugars have stabilized then  you can probably even reintroduce some of the old things you used to love, just in moderation from now on.</p>
<p>Having diabetes or hypoglycemia is not a death sentence, unless you choose to not do what is necessary to control it. Then you could find yourself in trouble. Big trouble. Symptoms for mild to moderate hypoglycemia are nausea, chills, cool, clammy skin, sweating, hunger, heart palpitations, irritability, anxiousness, confusion, blurry vision, and dizziness. Severe hypoglycemia can lead to loss of consciousness, seizures, coma, and death, if left untreated.</p>
<p>Following a good diet for hypoglycemia can help you lessen your risk for complications and even lessen your risk for becoming a full blown diabetic. If you are or do become a full blown diabetic then you will have other things you will need to concern yourself with. It is common for diabetics to have decreased blood flow to their extremities. When this happens it can lead to ulcers and other skin conditions. If serious enough the decreased blood flow could lead to tissue death and the need for amputation.</p>

<p>There is a much more common occurrence of people that are overweight or obese in the United States today. Statistics have shown that almost two-thirds of the adults in America are overweight or obese. The more immediate concern is the fact that about 15% of American children and adolescents are overweight and there is another 15% that are at risk for being overweight.</p>
<p>Obesity in children is becoming more and more concerning. There are a substantial number of children that are obese and have started developing medical condition and diseases that are normally associated with adults. The smallest children are at risk of being overweight or obese. Approximately 10% of the preschoolers in America weigh more than they should for their age and body type.</p>
<p>There are a variety of medical conditions that many people can develop related to being overweight or obese. Some of these conditions include high blood pressure, diabetes, stroke, high cholesterol, and many others. The most common condition, however, is heart disease. If you are overweight or obese, there is a very strong chance that you will develop heart disease.</p>
<p>Heart disease is the most common cause of death in America today. In the United States, there is one person that is killed by heart disease every thirty-four seconds. Heart disease is a term that relates to many different medical conditions and afflictions of the heart.</p>
<p>It is often much easier to just label it as heart disease than to get into the specific details and different ailments of heart disease. Another reason for this is that there is usually more than one thing affecting the heart. There can be multiple conditions going on at once. These conditions combine and attack the heart. It essentially becomes a diseased, poorly working organ. Eventually, the disease process completely takes over and death is imminent.</p>
<p>There are many ways to reduce the risk of heart disease and to curb problems with obesity. Even losing as little as 10 pounds can lower your risks and actually start reversing health problems. There are many different programs and treatments available.</p>
<p>Some people are able to lose weight and become healthier through diet and exercise. However, in cases of extreme obesity, this often does not work. People that have severe obesity could need surgery or special procedures that are done by a doctor to be able to lose the weight.
